El trabajo de investigaci\u00f3n fue desarrollado por los m\u00e9dicos Roberto Giannoni, Ivana S. Gonz\u00e1lez, Carlos R. Garnica y Franco F. Giannoni, m\u00e9dicos del Hospital Regional de Santiago del Estero; Ezequiel Mart\u00ednez, del Hospital Fern\u00e1ndez de Buenos Aires; Mar\u00eda Peral de Bruno de la Universidad Nacional de Tucum\u00e1n y Fabio D. Masevicius del Sanatorio Otamendi de Bs As.
Se trata de un estudio cl\u00ednico en embarazadas, ingresadas a terapia intensiva del Hospital Regional de Santiago del Estero, por trastornos hipertensivos graves del embarazo, como la preeclampsia severa y la eclampsia, principal causa de mortalidad materna en nuestro pa\u00eds.
El art\u00edculo, se titula: \u00abDiferencias en los patrones de flujo sangu\u00edneo cerebral evaluados mediante Doppler transcraneal en pacientes con preeclampsia grave y eclampsia\u00bb y fue publicado en la \u201cInternational Journal of Gynecology & Obstetric\u201d. La revista internacional, publica art\u00edculos sobre todos los aspectos de la investigaci\u00f3n b\u00e1sica y cl\u00ednica en los campos de la obstetricia y la ginecolog\u00eda y temas relacionados, con \u00e9nfasis en asuntos de inter\u00e9s mundial.
\u201cEl estudio cobra a\u00fan m\u00e1s valor al tratarse de una investigaci\u00f3n llevada adelante \u00edntegramente en el marco de la Residencia de Terapia Intensiva del Hospital Regional, a partir del compromiso y trabajo articulado del equipo\u201d, explic\u00f3 el Dr. Roberto Giannoni.
El Dr. Roberto Giannoni subray\u00f3 que \u201cel territorio de la arteria basilar es poco estudiado, y nuestros hallazgos sugieren que el an\u00e1lisis de su flujo podr\u00eda tener un valor diagn\u00f3stico diferencial entre preeclampsia severa y eclampsia, contribuyendo a una mejor prevenci\u00f3n y manejo de estas patolog\u00edas cr\u00edticas\u201d.
En las conclusiones del estudio se destaca que el aumento de la velocidad del flujo cerebral y la disminuci\u00f3n de la resistencia vascular son hallazgos caracter\u00edsticos en pacientes con preclamsia severa y eclamsia. Aunque estos cambios se presentan en todos los territorios vasculares cerebrales, los investigadores observaron que las alteraciones significativas en los \u00edndices Doppler de la arteria basilar podr\u00edan ofrecer informaci\u00f3n clave sobre los mecanismos fisiopatol\u00f3gicos que conducen a la eclampsia.
